2024 Update!

Hello everyone! I know it's been awhile since I updated everyone on what was happening with Shirley Grand, and it's probably been even longer since I posted or shared anything on my socials as well, so I thought I'd give you a general update on things!  This past year has been super busy for me in other areas of my life. For instance, I directed a community theater production of Kiss Me, Kate!  that took up an immense chunk of my time from March through the first part of August.  It was a joy to get to lead and learn from all the amazing artists and technicians that were a part of this production, in total we numbered over 50 and it was a crazy experience leading and guiding so many people to create a common goal and tell a fun and touching story.  But what about Shirley Grand Crochet?! At the end of last year, my office held a drive for the less fortunate in my area and I donated most of my hats, scarves and other cozy items since they were taking up space, and I wo...

Creator Spotlight - COMING SOON!

Creator Spotlight After realizing that I don't know nearly enough creators and crafters in my area, I knew that I had to do something about it! I dug deep into my past and found my high school journalism chops (next to my old dance team pom-poms) and decided to interview creators and crafters to share their amazing journeys and creations, and in doing so, I hope it helps inspire you!  I am a crocheter, but that is by no means the only craft out there! (And no, I don't just mean that knitters work with yarn too.) There are so many other crafts and artists and creators that we never get to know the nitty gritty on because we are often just doing our own thing. I know that this community is vast and large and I love supporting my fellow creators (especially local ones!) and interviewing those creators to have them share their love and inspiration for their creativity is one of the best ways to create, build and sustain a strong rich community.  I cannot wait for this series to go...
